O-Ring Fit: Matching a Toy to a Harness
An O-ring holds a compatible toy at the front of a harness. The shaft or attachment area passes through the opening, while the wider base stays behind it. The dimensions of both parts matter.

Compare diameter with diameter
Check the ring's internal diameter and the toy's diameter where the ring will sit. Circumference is the distance around a shape; it is not the same measurement as width across it. If a listing uses “girth” without defining it, ask which measurement it means.
The base must be large and suitable enough to remain behind the opening. A ring that accepts the shaft but lets the base pull through is not a secure match.
Find out whether the ring can change
Some harnesses have removable rings. Others have a fixed or flexible opening. Follow the harness instructions rather than trying to remove a component that was not designed to come out.
Ring material and flexibility also affect fit. A nominal measurement alone may not settle compatibility between two products from different makers.
Test the connection before use
Install the toy as directed, then check that the base sits securely. Test the harness with movement. Stop if the ring damages the toy, the connection slips, or the base begins to pull through.

If you are matching products you already own, send their names and measurements to the maker. “Standard O-ring” is not a promise that every toy and harness combination will work.
