Leather Harness Care: Cleaning, Drying, and Storage

Wipe your leather harness after use and let it dry before putting it away. Leather and the silicone toy it holds need different cleaning methods, so separate them first.

Keep water use limited

Use a lightly damp cloth to remove surface residue, following the maker's care instructions. Do not soak the harness or put it through a washing machine. Dry the hardware and allow the leather to air-dry at room temperature.

Keep it away from a radiator, hair dryer, or direct heat. Putting a damp harness into a closed bag also prevents it from drying properly.

Condition only with a suitable product

Use a conditioner recommended for the leather and finish. Test an inconspicuous area first, particularly on colored leather. Let it absorb and remove excess as directed before the harness touches skin again.

Conditioning is separate from cleaning. It will not remove every type of contamination or repair damaged straps.

Check the parts that carry tension

Inspect stitching, holes, straps, and fasteners. If a closure fails or the leather tears, stop using the harness and contact the maker. Do not rely on tightening another strap to compensate.

Store it dry without forcing it into a sharp fold. Keep hardware from scraping the silicone toys stored beside it.

NYTC's Signature Leather Harness is handcrafted leather. For a neoprene or fabric harness, use that product's own care instructions instead. If the harness is uncomfortable but undamaged, the setup guide covers adjustments before your next use.
